KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent II, Reporting and Management Analysis 

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To plan and prepare budgets and forecasts. To manage and control cost allocation against the approved budgets and to analyse and report on the costs, in order to improve production efficiency and assist management to make informed decisions. The incumbent also supervises the work of a Senior Officer, Cost Controller.

You will have the following:
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in Financial and Management Accounting
  • Experience in the mining environment is preferred and highly advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience of the Smelter Plant 
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. French, Swahili and Mandarin highly advantageous
  • Experience working in a smelter plant is preferred and highly advantageous

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

  • DRC legislation
  • Kamoa strategic imperatives
  • Integration of Kamoa business structures and processes
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Technical Skills should include:

  • Competent in mining and ERP systems
  • Advanced Computer literacy for role - MS Office Software (i.e. advanced excel skills)

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

 Process: Process: Define, manage and coordinate a world class Management Accounting function for the section
  • Initiate, oversee and consolidate the budget preparation process for the section for the coming fiscal year in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Compile internal Management Accounting reports as and when required, including input into Monthly Project Review Meetings (MPRM) per section
  • Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Function as a Management Accounting subject matter expert
