KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Foreman, Coordination

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To organize and coordinate to ensure a safe and effective smelter production process according to production targets. The incumbent supervises senior operators to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Smelter

You will have the following:
• Must have a completed degree with relevant metallurgical engineering majors
• Must have at least 6 years copper smelting experience
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French, Swahili, and Mandarin will be considered highly advantageous.

Role specific knowledge
• Smelter production and purification processes
• Troubleshooting (to determine causes of operating errors and establish remedial actions)
• Understanding cross-functional Smelting methodologies specific to the smelter plant
• Production and Smelter Standard Operating Procedures
• Ability to deal with emergencies in the plant
• Coordinate all the HME and LDV machinery

Technical Skills should include:

• Big-scale sulfuric acid production

  • Organize and coordinate the smelter production process to meet monthly and annual production targets
  • Support implementation of Dispatch center equipment & commissioning
