KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent II, HR Smelter

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To optimise General HR Operations and the people management value chain in the Smelter.  The incumbent recruits a skilled workforce, manages the labour budget, leave, promotions, demotions, and terminations of employees and leads a team of Senior HR Officers, Officers and Clerks.

You will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or an equivalent qualification.
  • Must have at least 8-10 years’ experience as an HR Generalist and Business Partner, preferably within a mining or smelter environment in a multinational company.
  • At least 4 years of proven management experience.
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

  • Manage the Smelter Human Resources department
  • Function as an HR subject matter expert
  • Optimise General HR Operations and the People Management Value Chain in the Smelter
  • Stakeholder Management - Manage relationships with stakeholders to enable resource optimization
  • People Management - Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports
  • Finance - Monitor Labour Plan budget as per Delegation of Authority Matrix
  • Support the Transformation agenda
  • Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
  • Adhere to and improve reporting processes for the area of responsibility
