KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent II, DBF Production

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage the production aspects of the Direct Blister Furnace. The principal accountability of this role includes overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the DBF production to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality. This role involves managing staff, scheduling production, and ensuring operations run smoothly, often reporting directly to Senior Superintendent I. The incumbent  directly supervises the Superintendent I.

You will have the following:

• Must have a degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
• At least 8 years’ working experience in copper smelting
• Must have at least 4 years supervisory experience
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French will be considered highly advantageous

• Process: Supervise a world class Smelter function
• Deliver on the Construction, commissioning & Trial Operation
• Deliver on the Direct Blister Furnace operating and production plan
• Enable and support contractors to deliver
• Stakeholder Management -Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• People - Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports
• Finance -Monitor costs or expenses to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
• Support the Transformation agenda
• HSEQ: Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
