KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Officer, Boiler maker Training

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To develop, implement and conduct Artisan training programs (Boilermaker), and to oversee the engineering Artisan trade-specific training. Training is focused on Engineering SOPs and the supervision of the use of specific mining equipment and machinery.
You will have the following:

  •  Must have a Trade Tested Certificate as a Boilermaker.
  • Must have an Assessor Certification.
  • Must have a Facilitation Qualification.
  • Must have at least 8 years of post-qualification experience as a Trade Tested Boilermaker, with a minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience, in a mining environment
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Trainer/Facilitator.
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered a strong advantage.

Technical Skills should include:

  • Club BTP & CMA standards
  • Familiarity with Engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Relevant DRC labour legislation

  • Develop training programs for Artisans
  • Train newly recruited Artisan / Learner
  • Follow up on on-site practical training for Artisan / Learner

  • People - Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports
