KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Executive Mining
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

Lead strategic direction setting and strategic plans for Mining Operations at KCSA in alignment to the company's vision, mission and values in orderto deliver longer term organisational objectives and create shareholder value. The Strategic intent of the Company is to establish and manage a world class Copper Mine in the Congo into the future for the life of the mine. The Incumbent leads senior managers and the scope of this role includes, Mining and the Training Centre
You will have the following:
- Must be a Diploma / Degree in Mining Engineering
- Must have a Mine Managers Certificate or equivalent
- A Business Qualification is an added advantage
- Must have at least 15 Years experience in an underground mining and operations related environment
- Must have at least 5years’ experience in running a mine [end-to-end]
- Must have at least 5years’ experience in an executive role
- Must have at least 10 years’ experience in project management
Role Profile Knowledge
- Strategic planning [Develop business strategy aligned to corporate Strategic Intent]
- Business Management in a mining environment Experience across different mining environments/ commodities/methodologies
- Business knowledge/acumen Member of Exco for 2 - 3 years
- Knowledge of local and global mining industry
Technical Skill
- In-depth knowledge and experience across the mining industry
- Experience of the various facets [end-to-end] of mining Corporate Governance principles
- Finance, Accounting, Tax and Legal policies, procedures and systems
- Global SHEQ standards

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
- Lead and direct the Mining business unit
- Deliver mining production targets in line with organisational strategy
- Mitigate risk and prepare contingency plans
- Stakeholder management -Drive relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain
- People- Manage and lead a division that builds people, values difference and creates an inclusive work environment
- Establish and oversee the budget that enables achievement of strategic intent of the business
- Monitor financial integrity of the business area and proactively deal with financial challenges
- Create shareholder value
- Champion Transformation, Change and Cultural Integration initiative
- HSEQ -Champion and drive HSE as a key aspect of organisational culture
