KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Officer, Technical Interpreter

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To coordinate the Smelter Managers’ activities and act as an expert interpreter, translator and coordinator of various occasions to ensure strategy, technical, management outputs are clearly understood by all parties.

You will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree relevant to Metallurgy or English/French Major
• 5 Years’ relevant experience as a technical interpreter
• Experience in HR is highly advantageous
• Experience in the smelter environment highly advantageous
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

Role Specific Knowledge

• Smelter production, construction and commissioning
• Smelter legislation
• Fluent in Mandarin and English
• Understand protocol and terminology for the smelter industry
• Business acumen/understanding of KCSA business

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

• Act as a support for the Smelter managers to coordinate activities between various internal and external stakeholders and ensure a clear understanding of communication across all levels
• Interface between the Smelter managers and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication
• Provide expert translation and interpretation services
• Coordinate Smelter manager activities with relevant internal and external stakeholders and ensure effective office management
• Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, coloration and innovation
• Manage self and show up as a good team player
• Support cost efficiencies and reduce waste
• Support the Transformation agenda
•  Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
