KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent II, Anode Furnace (AF) Technical

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To provide professional Anode Furnace (AF) technical services and advice, analysis, support and improvement suggestions and solutions in support of anode copper and refining slag production. The incumbent ensures systems are operational and accurate data is collected, and the scope / portfolio of the role includes fault-finding, remedying situations and optimising processes.

You will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering)
  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience in in smelting with preference for anode operation
  • Must have at least 2 years supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

  • Supervise a world class Smelter function
  • Deliver on the Construction & Trial Operation plan
  • Collect and Analyse AF Data
  • Ensure stock availability to support maintenance and repair plan and possible emergency maintenance needs

  • Function as a Processing Technology subject matter expert
