Specialised Artisan, Mechanical & Fitting(2Positions 

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To maintain, service and repair mechanical components on machinery (with OEM specialisation) to ensure their availability for mining operations. The incumbent tasks a small group of technicians and the scope / portfolio of this role includes performing planned and preventative maintenance, and attending to breakdowns

You will have the following:

  • Qualified Trade Tested Artisan Specializing in Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Must hold a valid trade certification.
  • Must have completed relevant safety and risk assessment training.
  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience as a post qualified trade tested artisan in the mining sector
  • Must have at least 6 years' experience in maintaining and repairing trackless mobile mine machines.
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French, Swahili, and Mandarin will be considered highly advantageous.

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

  • Lead teams of specialists to maintain and repair TMM fleet- Undertake planned maintenance and unplanned repairs on machinery, ensuring maximum availability for mining operations
  • Stakeholder management- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
  • Finance- Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Transformation, Change and Culture- Support Transformation in terms of people, automation/ digitisation and sustainability
  • HSEQ -Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
