KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Superintendent I, Tax
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage the company's regulatory taxation requirements and related financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems as well as ensuring compliance with taxation policies. The incumbent is the custodian of a compliant taxation system and framework and leads a team of specialists who monitor and implement taxation compliance in the operation. The scope of the role includes all forms of taxation such as Corporate Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Payroll Taxes, Environmental Taxes, Customs, etc.
You will have the following:
- Must have a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance-related field, with Tax specialisation
- Must have 10+ years' relevant experience in leading a Tax Finance division in the DRC
- Must have experience in the mining environment
- Must have experience in dealing directly with DRC taxation authorities on taxation inspections and dispute resolution
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
- Implement effective and efficient Taxation structures, policies, plans and governance structures
- Coordinate the day-to-day taxation related operations within the company
- Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
- Plan annual tax provision based on analyses and report against tax plan
- Function as a Taxation subject matter expert
- Stakeholder Management - Manage relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain
- People - Manage a division that builds people, values difference and creates an inclusive work environment
- Finance - Monitor costs or expenses within delegated budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
- Manage transformation in terms of people, automation / digitisation and sustainability and provide timely and robust change management to underpin initiatives

- Establish reporting best practice for area of responsibility
