KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Foreman, Mechanical 

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

By having to monitor, coordinate and control maintenance teams to ensure availability of TMM machines to meet production targets. You will have to supervise the specialists. You will have to supervise the specialist Artisans. The scope/portfolio of this role includes scheduling, tasking and checking preventative(service)/reactive(breakdown) maintenance, and ensuring parts availability.  

You will have the following:

An Electrical or Mechanical Trade 
Supervisors Certificate 
being proficient in English is compulsory and with at least
5 years as a qualified artisan plus 2-3 years in a supervisory role.  

Preferably you will have:

An Electrical or Mechanical Trade with cross-knowledge 
Supervisors Certificate with knowing 
French or Swahili, would be highly  

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

  • Underground & breakdown experience
  • Machine specific experience
  • Personal/HR management 

Technical Skills should include:

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

 Coordinate teams of specialists to maintain TMM machines

  • Monitor and control TM3 business processes according to quality standards; policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountability
