KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent I Sewage and Potable water

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage sewage related activities and sewage treatment plants and potable water reticulation site-wide in accordance to equipment manufacturer and world best practices to achieve legal compliance to water quality requirements. The incumbent compiles and implements the site wide sewage and potable water management strategy and designs, budgets for and manages sewage and potable water related activities, including all associated cost and safety controls, with monthly budgets of US$100k+.This role coordinates and provides technical support on sewage and potable water related activities based on the Water Management strategy for the mine and oversees the work of consultants, contractors and operators. As a minimum, a 2 – 5 years planning forecast is required to meet the mine’s sewage and potable water supply objectives. The plan and strategy will be reviewed and updated every 5 years

You will have the following:

  • Must hold a Diploma/ Degree  in Engineering(Environmental, Civil, Chemical/ Process, Water Care).
  • Must have at least 10 years years experience in all aspects related to sewage treatment a mining environment
  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience in project management and team leader in projects such as sewage treatment plant construction and commissioning
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered a strong advantage.

  • Manage sewage and potable water across the mine site
  • Plan and Project manage company-wide sewage and potable water reticulation systems 2 – 5 years into the future
