KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent II, Technical Supervisory Training

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To develop, implement, manage and coordinate critical mining training programs in accordance with the training and transformation strategies and in support of operational skills requirements. The incumbent manages a team and ensures best practice delivery of Induction training, General worker training, Surface mock-ups, Safety Rep training, Miner & Production supervisor training, and Mine overseer’s Training.

You will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resource development or BCOM IOP
• Blasting certificate
• Mine Overseers Certificate of Competence
• Assessor
• Moderator
• 8 Years mining experience with minimum 2 years as a Mine Overseer and 5 years delivering mining training.
• Excellent track record with similar experience in an African mining environment advantageous.
• Proficiency in French and English preferred

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

• Mining knowledge (mechanized & underground hard rock)
• Management experience
• National legislation regarding mining and labour legislation
• INPP
• Contractor / provider management
• Curricula and training material development
• 5 Years Mining Training experience
• Mechanised Mining & underground hard rock experience
• Geology and Rock Strata experience/knowledge
• SHE standards and practices
• Training programme design and delivery

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, manage and coordinate critical mining training programs
• Coordinate and oversee training scheduling and effectiveness
• Coordinate and oversee Miner, General Foreman / Shift Supervisor and Mine Overseer Training
• Oversee and Coordinate Surface mock-ups
• Coordinate and oversee Induction training and Safety rep training
• Enable and support external vendors / training providers to deliver
