KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Managerial Leader I, Mine Technical Services Planning
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

- To support, implement and manage a best practice Mine Technical Services [Mine Resource Management] function and ensure safe and efficient production of ore. The incumbent assists to operationalises strategy by managing managers and specialists and the scope of this role includes Life of Mine Planning creation, running of production optimization and scenarios, building opex and capex as well as financial models. This role provides management with advice to ensure the professional and safe exploration of the mineral resources to meet the company objectives.
You will have the following:
- Must have a Degree in Mining Engineering.
- A master’s degree in mining engineering will be an added advantage.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in long-term and mid-term mine planning within an underground mining environment.
- At least 3–5 years’ experience as a Chief Mine Planner or in an equivalent role.
- Must have advanced proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik and 5D Planner for mine design, production scheduling, and schedule optimization.
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory; working knowledge of French will be considered a strong advantage

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
- Manage the Mine Technical Services function
- Plan, Design, establish and embed effective and efficient MRM planning structures
- Lead tactical direction setting and plan for the business area in alignment to the company’s strategy
