The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%)。 It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage and ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of the Smelter mechanical equipment according to production targets. The incumbent supervises artisans and specialised artisans to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Smelter mechanical equipment.
You will have the following:
- Must have a completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Must have at least 6 years’ experience in maintaining of copper smelting plant machines or equipment
- Must have worked in a copper smelting plant
- Must have with at least 3 years’ supervisory experience
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French will be considered highly advantageous
You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:
- Maintaining of smelting plant machines or equipment
- Operation, control and maintenance of utility plants
- Troubleshooting
- Smelting methodologies
- Maintenance methodologies
- Ability to deal with emergency malfunctions in the plant
Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
- Manage and ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of Smelter mechanical equipment
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports
- Monitor costs or expenses to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
- Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
