Artisan Instrumentation
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To install and maintain instrumentation for various devices, monitor their output, and ensure their optimal operation for the purposes of business continuity. The incumbent integrates with a small group of specialists and the scope / portfolio of this role includes installing instrumentation systems, ensuring their operation, and monitoring the surrounding processes that the instruments track (e.g. pump stations, fans, conveyor belts etc).
You will have the following:
• Must be a qualified trade tested Instrument technician
• A diploma in Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage
• Must have at least 6 years relevant experience installing and monitoring instrumentation equipment, working with relevant software such as SCADA and PLC.
• Must have worked in the mining environment
• Fluency in English essential. Swahili and French advantageous
Technical Skills should include:
• Experience and understanding of SCADA, PLC, associated fault-finding
• Ability to perform required calculations, some programming\

• Install, Monitor and Maintain Instrumentation
• Ensure instrumentation equipment is in place for the benefit of mining operations
• Ensure the instrumentation equipment is performing as required
• Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
• Function as an Instrumentation subject matter
• Stakeholder Management: Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• Finance: Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
• Transformation: Support transformation agenda
• HSEQ: Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
• Reporting and Governance and Quality- Adhere to and improve reporting processes for the area of responsibility
